The contact owns a 2001 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to 85 mph. The contact was able to shift into neutral and then applied the parking brake in order to stop the vehicle. The engine was still independently registering over 7,000 rpms. A dealer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance to the contact. The manufacturer was notified and also offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 160,000. Updated 12/31/12 updated 01/03/13
