This is an ongoing problem. The engine light comes on but the car runs fine. After awhile the engine light would go off. This time the light took 8 months to go off. The first time it happened, I took it to the dealer to fix. They charged $80 just to tell me that it may be a defective gas cap. I bought a new gas cap but it didn't solve the problem. They tell me they have to do another diagnostic check (another $80 charge) but no guarantees that they will fix the problem. I tell them no thanks cause I had the same problem with my Honda Accord. This engine light is just a money grab by the dealers. Fortunately the light goes off before I need to go for an emissions test, otherwise I would have to spend the money to fix the unknown problem before I can renew my license plate.

I have recently bought this used car. Drove it out of town. 300 miles from home and suddenly the VSA, check engine and caution light comes on and the car jerks and stops accelerating. I had to turn car off and turn it back on, like rebooting a computer, in order to return the car back to driving normally. This happened several times while driving on expressway. What the heck is wrong with this car?
