CR-V 4-cyl

I was backing out of a parking space in a lot when my car lurched forward and accelerated. I had to slam on the brake to stop it but by then I had hit the car parked next to me as well as the grocery cart return racks. I did significant damage to both but no one was hurt. A routine maneuver turned into a terrifying event. It felt as if the car went from going routinely in reverse to taking off in drive. At first I thought that my foot had slipped off the brake and stated as much but I was speaking kind of out of shock and bewilderment, it was a pretty intense experience. My foot would not have been on the braked since I was backing out. There were obstacles to my pulling forward, namely the grocery cart return racks. When it was over I turned off my engine and my transmission locked and stayed that way for about 10 minutes. I had a similar experience in March 2019 but it was after a very heavy snowstorm so I didn't file a claim with the insurance carrier, I thought it must be condition related but conditions were perfect yesterday. I noticed that there are similar complaints listed here so what does it take to initiate a recall? I also noticed that a milder version of what I experienced was cause for a recall on the 2008 Honda Ridgeline associated with the accelerator pedal assembly. That resulted in the assembly being replaced in Honda CR-Vs through 2006 so I wonder whether 2007's have a variation of the same problem or they should have been included in that recall. I've filed an insurance claim and I've contacted American Honda but their attitude toward it is pretty casual. Uploading pics of the collision, the idea being that they show the damage done as I am moving forward even though I started out backing up. I don't thing you accept Mac movie formats. Thanks.

CR-V

  • 55,000 miles
2007 Honda CR-V with only 55,000 miles while stopped with foot firmly on brake excellorates between 3 and 5 thousand RPM's. at this point it is stuck and I put the auto in park and turn off. This may take three or four times to get idle back to normal. This seems extremly dangerous, once with school children crossing in front of me. Took to Honda dealship for problem twice and they said could not duplicate and suggested I record on my phone next time it happens. It's all I can do to avoid an accident. The last thing I would do is get my phone out, etc.I sure hope you can advise me on how to get Honda to address this! the car has only done it in town, as I do not want to go on highway.

CR-V

  • 43,000 miles
After accelerating the 2007 Honda CRV, the auto continued to accelerate rapidly on its own. Applying the brakes did little to stop the acceleration. After 4/10th of a mile the driver was able to get the car into neutral, stopped, and at the side of the road. When the engine was restarted it raced at full speed. It was also impossible to get the car out of "park" and into neutral. (4 attempts were made over a 30 min period). Vehicle was towed to mechanic. Mechanic reported than when he received the car he need to jump start the 1 year old battery and was able to start the car normally. He does not know what happened and will continue to run tests.

CR-V

  • 30,000 miles
My Honda CRV 2007 vehicle did a sudden acceleration of half the vehicle length when attempting to park the car. If anyone would have been in front of my vehicle, they would be dead. In light of all the Toyota press, I decided to report this. I did have a floor mat in place, was it caught in the gas pedal" have their been any report of trouble with the Honda CRV" this occurred once only and I did remove floor mats. This occurred on November 23, 2009. I would appreciate any information on this as it was very frightening and still concerns me..
