Took my CR-V to dealer on Friday, they said it needed AC clutch which they didn't have, would have on Monday. They called, said it was still making noise after replacement, told it could be alternator they didn't have, replaced alt. with a rem. alt. still making noise. Wed they replaced serpentine belt and tensioner. I was told they don't know what the problem is this is day 6, I requested a loaner and got it. Fri day 8, I was informed it was fixed, dealer said it was AC clutch and they received a bad replacement from Honda. WoW

I made an appt. with the dealer I purchased the CRV at for a friday morn. I work afternoon shift, wife works day shift, hoping to resolve this in a timely manner and was told it could take between two to four hrs to diagnose and repair. Dealer says its the ac compressor or compressor clutch making this horrible whining noise. Guess what, this big dealership doesn't have the part and need to order one. They might have it Monday. That's great, now we are down to one car and two people working at different jobs.
