We have taken very good care of our 2015 Honda CRV. A few weeks ago, when attempting to start the car by doing the push start process, it would randomly not take. I would try a few times and it finally took. But, I was afraid to do errands fearing I'd get stuck completely I am a Caretaker for a friend and I had to rework my schedule so not to go anywhere but there in case my car wouldn't start. After reading MANY blogs and Honda tech sites, most really didn't have a definitive answer. Some said battery, some start button, some said starter.

I had the starter tested 3 TIMES. Of course, it started for them! When I went back to my car that time, IT WOULDN'T START! I then decided to have the START/STOP button replaced, but no luck. After standing with a very nice Mechanic he explained how a Starter works and I decided that had to be it. I just had it replaced a few days ago and it's working now. BUT...this problem should be addressed by a recall or at least Honda notifying owners that the starter can be the culprit so they don't spend money on parts/labor for the wrong problem.

Left stranded. Major engine failure. Out of warranty. Had the option of replacing with brand new engine ($12,000) or one salvaged from rear-ended crv ($5,000). Went with the lesser of two expenses.

I have had multiple problems with my car not starting. At times all electrical must be reset i.e radio and GPS goes off, I reported these problems to Stevenson Honda in Wilmington NC on 5/4/16, 10/18/16, 6/27/17. and 3/28/18. On each of these occasions I was told that if the problem did not happen when the car was being serviced, they could not identify the problem. The most recent incidents took place in December 2020 and again on 2/17/21. Since Stevenson had never been able to fix the problem, I brought it to a local repair shop.

In December, I purchased a new battery. On 2/17/21 I had the car towed, because it would not start. Again they could not determine the cause. I was advised by the mechanic that it was time to trade the car in, since I can no longer depend on it. I am afraid to travel any distance, in case I get stuck someplace. The car has less that 66000 miles on it. I think there is something wrong with the car, because I have heard other people speak of similar problems with their CRV. Unfortunately I would never recommend that any of my friends purchase a Honda CRV, it's the worst car I ever owned!!

Shop told me heat from exhaust causes a large number of failures in 2.4 Hondas. Cost was very high due to lack of availability due to covid 19 and shipping from Japan.

You have a doctor's appointment. You go out to start your car and it does nothing. Doesn't even try to start.

Called AAA. He jumped it and it started. Brought it home and tried to start it, wouldn't start. Tried to jump it wouldn't start. Kept trying to start it and it finally started. Took it to have battery checked and they said nothing wrong with battery. Trying to find a job, now I'm not sure I can get there.
