Civic

  • Manual transmission

Been having an issue where my 99 Honda Civic just suddenly dies, engine as well as all electronics while driving. Did a search to try to figure out where the problem is and that was when I ran across a recall for 97-99 Honda’s ignition switch failures and the recall explains exactly how my car is operating. I then searched by vin number and it states that my car isn’t listed within the recall. Bought the car new but I believe that my 99 Honda Civic should be included as well.

Civic EX 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 155,000 miles

The car shuts off along with all electrical while driving. I called Honda about the recall I read about on the 1999 Honda Civic on the ignition switch and they are saying that my vin number is not covered. How can, say100 cars, all have the same problem of stalling out while driving, however the recall will only covers 50 of them?? If there is a recall on the 1999 Honda Civic's regarding the ignition switch then ALL the 1999 Honda Civics should be covered under the recall NOT just the ones they want and yes, I have called and put in a case number regarding the recall already and as to why my vin was excluded.
