Civic LX 2.7L

  • Manual transmission
  • 165,000 miles

I have a clunking noise in front end on passenger side. I was told it was the cv joint. I replaced both, still there. I have now replaced the entire front suspension and the noise is still there. It is embarrassing as well as annoying. I have no idea what it is. I've sent it to several mechanics, no one knows. Everyone has a suggestion, but nothing pans out. WTF?

Civic EX 1.7L 4

  • Manual transmission
  • 46,300 miles

I realize that my car is ten years old, but in my opinion having to replace control arm and sway bar bushings after only 46,300 miles is way too soon. My favorite auto repair shop, highly rated by the local Consumer Checkbook, told me that this was a common problem with Hondas. And after paying $633 for this repair, the clunking noises when traversing over irregularities of the pavement is still present, though reduced somewhat.

Civic LX Non Vtec I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,000 miles

3rd time!!!!!!!!!! and now my transmission went out!!!!!! F this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read my numerous other complaints about this piece of $hit. If you own this car and it's still driveable park it in a bad neighborhood and get it stolen. Don't sell it, no one should have this car...I'm sure the thief will end up writing a complaint on here too....

Civic LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

I bought the car new in Aug., 2001- steering was sloppy from the start- was told nothing wrong- finally replaced steering rack at 27K miles- still made a sloshing and klunking sound at the slightest bump in the road- dealer replaced right strut- still noises, etc.- dealer replaced left strut- still not right- went to different dealer- replaced left and right bushings-- was okay for only one day then same noises came back--don't know what to do now- I've read here that people have had steering rack or struts replaced more than once ??? We had two of these cars- 2001 Civic LX's- and luckily we sold one in 2005- now I'm reading about transmission failures at low mileages--- what a bummer as this car is paid off- never get another Honda- We had a 1990 Acura Integra and got 245K miles on it with the original transmission, etc.-- but that was then, as they say--will never happen with this car!- back to my Toyotas, I guess!
