Civic EX 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 43,000 miles

The dashboard controls intermittently fail to work. The dash lights work properly, but the gauges (odometer, thermostat, RPM gauge, fuel gauge, etc.) don't work. Sometimes temporarily fixed by turning the car off, then on again. Dealer has no idea how to fix it.

Civic EX 2.7L

  • Manual transmission
  • 10,000 miles

The tach, speedometer, temp, and gas gauges quit working. the standard warranty covered the replacement of the "brain" which controls the instrument cluster. Now, 3 yrs later the darn thing failed again! Now the extended warranty people are balking about replacing it again because I am at 97,000 miles and the failure is intermittent. It starts and stops. I live 80 miles away from the dealer and can't always make it happen in front of them. It's weird to not know how fast you are going, what you engine temp, or how much fuel you have!
