problem #2

Civic DX 1.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,000 miles

NOTICABLE GAS FUMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING OFF ENGINE. REDUCED MPG, 6-10 PER GALLON.

DIAGNOSED BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. DISCOVERED 2 INCH CRACK IN TOP OF FUEL PUMP MODULE. VEHICLE MILEAGE IS 84,000. MECHANIC REPORTED THAT HE HAS HAD 3 HONDAS W/ THIS ISSUE IN 2 WEEKS.

THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT HONDA DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE, COSTING OWNERS EXPENSIVE REPAIRS AND PUTTING THE SAFETY OF OWNERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AS RISK.

THERE IS A NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # (07V512000) . I URGE ANYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE FOR 2001-2007 CIVICS FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. IT'S QUICK, 5 MINS, AND EASY.

THIS ISSUE DESERVES A RECALL.

I WOULD APPRECIATE HEARING FROM ANYONE WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM.
