I was driving down the interstate (approx. 70 mph) when I heard what sounded like an explosion. My immediate reaction was to duck. I looked over my right shoulder and saw my backseat window crumbling...then it began circulating through the interior of the car. The entire window was destroyed. Once I pulled over, I called the police. He examined the car and did not find evidence of a gunshot, rock or any other projectile.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Civic. While driving, the sun visors would fall down sporadically and obstruct the contact's visibility. A professional mechanic stated that the plastic and screws in the sun visors were defective. The components were not replaced because the parts were on back order. The contact tightened the screws as a temporary repair. Several months later, while driving 35 mph, the sun visors dropped down again without warning and caused the contact to rear end another vehicle. A police report was filed. The manufacturer has not been notified. The failure mileage was 33,000 and current mileage was 34,000. Updated 04-07-08
