The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while traveling at various speeds, the compressor and the battery failed intermittently. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician determined that there was an electrical short which required further diagnosis. The dealer was waiting for instruction from the manufacturer to remedy the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 18,500.

Popping noise while turning at 5,268 miles. Replaced two tires at 19,785 miles. Need a front end axle replacement at 31,839. Diagnosed and adjusted torqued rear suspension noise at 60,136. Replaced rear upper control arms 61,275. Replaced shocks, and cv boots at 61,275. Struts were making noise due to cupping. Struts were replaced at 61,275. Two new tires that were recently replaced were replaced again. Both tires were feathered and making noise. Vehicle is maintained in good condition and is following the manufacturer's maintenance recommendation. Car was aligned as required by manufacturer. However, cupping or feathering of the tires still happened. When the rear control arm was not replaced yet, the rear noise was so loud and driving was bad. The tires felt flat and the shock absorber did not seem to be working. It is very hard to deal with both Honda America and kolbe dealer. Both companies tried to play ignorant of the issues although they knew it all along. I spent $1,419.11 for premature expenses. American Honda blamed the premature damages to me. American Honda nor kolbe Honda did not notify me of the technical bulletins that were issued. Also, just because there is a technical bulletin or corrective action does not mean that the problem will go away. Design of the rear upper control arm must be reviewed again and tested for geometry with other parts of the vehicle. Honda America should tightened its quality control and quality assurance so that its manufacturing facility will not release cars that have defective parts. Honda knew very well that the rear upper control arms have design flawed starting with 2002 Honda Civic. Why are they still using this design" is it because they manufactured so much of the wrong parts" the battery, and water pump pulley were replaced, updated 07/16/12

2007 Honda Civic hybrid. Consumer states problems with vehicle battery the consumer stated she received a letter from Honda motor Corp. To visit her dealer for a software update to prevent premature deterioration on the ima battery. The consumer stated she was getting poor gas mileage. She then noticed the vehicle's performance was extremely sluggish. Every time she started the vehicle and began driving, the gauge that displayed the ima battery's charge dropped to one bar and there was absolutely no assist from the ima system upon acceleration, which was the process of the battery recalibrating and trying to evaluate if there was enough charge available to assist the internal combustion engine, which could leave the vehicle dangerously under-powered when merging into interstate traffic. The consumer also stated she had difficulty turning left at a busy intersection due to lack of acceleration. The vehicle almost never shut off with the auto-stop feature due to low charge of the ima battery.

This is a notification of a defect before it becomes a failure which causes accident or loss of life. I have repeatedly returned my 2007 Honda Civic si sedan for service (4 times) for a defect in the front suspension which could cause strut failure. The problem is unresolved. Internet research indicates many other owners (2006-07 model year) with the same problem. The consumer stated battery is dead if vehicle is not run for 5 or more days updated 12/12/07
