Civic SI 4

  • Manual transmission
  • 37,000 miles

Had the vehicle in the shop to have the 2nd and 3rd gear syncro's replaced. The transmission then failed and had to have the vehicle towed in. The dealership wanted $500.00 to open up the transmission to determine the problem. They said that due to abuse the final drive gears of the transmission broke. They want $5000.00 to replace the transmission. The vehicle is under warranty but yet they want to make the customer pay. I've talked with the service director to set up and appointment with the Honda service representative but he will not talk to me. I've been told that he will be in the dealership this week and I plan to wait to talk to him.

Civic DX-A 1.8L

I'm still having problems with the 3rd gear a year and 3 month later. The dealership says it's my driving. I mentioned to them I have never had a problem with any other car in my life.
