problem #1

May 032010

Civic LX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,590 miles

Stopped for gas with 2 bars of gas left. I push the handle to open the gas lid on the back drivers side. The door does not open. I call the dealer who is 20 miles away. They tell me to take a paint stirrer and force it open. A 6 month old Civic and you have to force it open with a Home Depot Paint stirrer!#* Needless to say it does not work. After 2 more calls to the dealer they tell me to call 1-800-999-5901 Honda Roadside Assistance. These As__oles try to sell me some F__ken insurance plan. Two more calls before a mechanic tells me to remove the drivers side panel in the trunk. Feel with my hand where the cable ends and twist counter clockwise some plastic wing nut. Then pull the cable to get the lid to open. I bought a Honda so I would not to wrench on it. Next car will be a Kia. $4000 cheaper and no pretense that you will have to wrench on it. This is not your Dad's Honda anymore. It makes Toyota look like quality!
