problem #1

Civic LS 1.8L

Occasionally I have noticed that when braking after driving on the interstate, my car will resist decelerating. Typically, applying more pressure to the brakes forces the car to stop and the engine finally cooperates and decelerates. Today I was pulling into a parking space after driving only 10-15 minutes in city traffic, average 45 mph. The engine was decelerating normally, but then suddenly the engine revved up strongly. I reacted quickly and pressed the brakes hard to stop the car. A slower reaction or less pressure and I would have lunged into the car parked in the next space. Had this occurred at a stoplight, I almost assuredly would have lunged into the car ahead of me.

I called Carmax where I purchased my car, but they said they had not heard of this problem with the Civic. I am printing copies of other complaints like mine to show them I am not the only person with this problem.
