From the day I bought this car at 30,000 miles it had a clunky transmission.
Every shift at low speeds can be felt, upshifting and downshifting, with a very noticeable and annoying bump. It's way more noticeable than any other car I've driven. I've been told it is because Honda's automatic transmissions don't use a planetary gear design, but one that is more reminiscent of a manual.
If you're driving at parking lot speeds (5-15 mph) and let go of the accelerator, the car jerks forward. When you press the accelerator pedal at this speed, the car will jerk into gear violently. I've been told that other people had this issue as well.
When you're on the highway with the cruise control set, turning the cruise control off will make the car jerk forward slightly.
All of these problems are made worse when the A/C is on.
Since there was no diagnostic code, Honda couldn't do anything about this issue. I've tried cleaning the throttle body, changing the air filter, changing the transmission filter and fluid, and none of it helped at all. It is super annoying and still present at 58,000 miles.
