Civic LX 1.8L

  • CVT transmission
  • 8,700 miles

I bought my 2015 Honda Civic Lx in December 2014. Everything was great for about a month. I started getting this foul in the cabin that worsened into the summer. I took it back to the dealer where they tweeked this and that and sent me on my way,

Within 2 weeks the odor was back. It smelled like exhaust fumes. I took it back to the dealer who basically said nothing was wrong, every thing checked out fine. So I decided to try another dealer. They investigated the problem and found that the cabin filter was defective and changed it. It's been a few weeks now and so far so good. Hopefully it will completely resolved.

I purchased a new 2015 Honda Civic in December 2014 with 7 miles on the car - brand new car. I brought it home and parked it in the garage, and the next day it had a foul trash/garbage smell in the cabin. I contacted my dealership - they recommended leaving the windows open to air it out. It's a new car - why should I have to air it out??

I ended up taking it into the dealership, where they left my car and another new Civic in the garage over night. They agreed that both cars had an odor mixed in with the new car smell. They detailed the car to hopefully cover or clean the smell, but it didn't help. I brought it back in a few days ago so that the Honda representative could take a look - he said that nothing was wrong with the car. It was fine to him. Unable to help, I contacted Honda Customer Service - their stand on the issue was that nothing needs to be replaced, so there's nothing they can do. Absolutely useless. As a loyal Honda family, I'm very disappointed in their customer service.

It's been over three months of driving with a trash-smelling new car. Does anyone else have this problem?? Please help - so unhappy with my purchase.
