AC out for the 2nd time. First went out at 30k miles and it was Hondas fault by making a faulty compressor. It has gone out again at 45k miles but they want me to pay upfront and if they find out it was due to Honda, they'll pay. This is ridiculous and should be a recall.

Just picked my 2018 Honda Civic up from the dealership that was being serviced due to the air conditioning blowing out hot air. I got a bill for $65.95 and an estimate for $1,776.00 to replace the compressor. The condenser is also bad, but Honda has extended the warranty to 10 years due to the condensers on certain vehicles not being manufactured to specification. Honda however has failed to recall the bad compressors, thus it is on the owner to pay for the repair. $1,776 for me is the equivalent to 10 months of car payments.

This car doesn't even have 18,000 miles on it and the a/c was only used for 2 summers. This is the third Civic that I've leased but this one I bought out at lease end. Rest assured it will be the last Honda I ever purchase. I'm trading it in for something else this weekend (not a Honda). Totally ridiculous once I did some investigating online about how many other Honda owners have had the exact same experience with their a/c's. An absolutely epic fail on Honda's part.

Sierra Honda charged me for a diagnostic that was not warranted based on the fact the item was under warranty. The representative was informed and when trying to explain he rudely cut me off, asking me to let him speak. The item is on warranty and the condenser for 2018 Honda Civic with unlimited mileage.

I received a call from downtown Los Angeles Honda informing of the extended warranty. The Sierra Honda rep insisted on telling me the condenser and the compressor for the air conditioner had to be replaced in order for both items to work, along with insisting it was the mileage that is not a fact only the condenser is the problem and defective.

I called and sent email to the general mgr and yet have received a call back and or any type of communication regarding this matter. I was not supposed to be charged a diagnostic fee - in order to get fixed Sierra Honda quoted me $1650 and stated it was a discount price to replace both items. But if not getting repaired I need to pay $165 but gave me a discount of $15.00. However, if I had not paid the $140.00 I would not have been able to retrieve my car.

They then called downtown Los Angeles service. The same issue - tried to tell me both have to be fixed and then quoted me a price of $1100.00. I asked to speak to their general manager and have not yet received a call back. The bottom line is if the condenser is defective, it's causing the compressor to have a problem, if one does not work without the other as I was told.
