Civic Touring 4 cyl Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,500 miles

When driving with adaptive cruise control on my Civic Touring gets rather confused when a car in front of me quickly pulls into either the left or right turn lane. The other car slows down and pulls into the other lane. My car indicates that braking is required but since the other car has pulled into the turn lane I do not apply the brakes. At this point with no car in front, my car breaks and all of the sensing lights come on with the message that the system is not working. Once I stop the car and restart it the message may initially show up on the dash but quickly disappears and all is fine again.

Similarly, when driving with ACC on and I approach a sharp curve to the right the ACC with interpret a car coming in the opposite direction and lane as being in my lane and may brake suddenly.

Of course the solution to these problems is for me to be super-observant and brake when I think the ACC is going to act up even though I know I do not need to brake otherwise.
