problem #1

Jan 102011

Civic Hybrid 1.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,100 miles

This is the 3rd time in 19 months that one of the batteries has needed replacing. The first was the hybrid battery, within 3 months of purchase (new), then in Sept. 2010 the standard battery went out with none of the usual warning signs. A brand-new battery was put in. Today (Jan. 10, 2011) that battery was completely dead. All along the hybrid charging system has been very erratic. When jump-started after the 2 regular batteries went out, both times the passenger side map light (never used) came on -- possibly indicating a wiring and/or computer software problem. They have no idea of the cause of any of these problems.
