cannot unlock driver side door with key-tried w40

Started having trouble opening driver side door a few months ago then major problem on freezing day. Tried WD 40 then graphite as suggested. Feels like key doesn't quite go all the way in and won't unlock. Have to climb over seats (at 80 years old) to unlock. Was given quote to put new lock in but will have to use separate key to open 2 different locks!!! In researching problem on Internet I'm not alone. Many Honda owners are having same problem. Feel sure there'll be a recall. My wife just got an Accord so worried if this happens a lot with Honda and if we can count on Honda to fix the short life lock issue.
