Are 2008 Honda Fit Sports prone to having unexpected acceleration surges? This may have contributed to a couple of accidents I had in the last few years. If so, what would cause the surges and how can this be corrected? Could the spake plugs and coils contribute to the surges? The Fit has about 75,000 miles over the last 10 years.

My 08 Fit revs while going downhill, the RPMs go very high and will not change no matter what I do. I have brought it to dealer since car was 2 weeks old and they still cant figure it out. Now, while accelerating from a stop RPMs rev and car sputters and wont move. Getting very dangerous to drive this thing. I call it my "Honda S**t".

Anyone else having these type issues? Any suggestions on what to do?
