Takata recall my airbag inflator on the driver side needs to be replaced in my 2008 Honda Fit, per the weir canyon Honda dealer. The light went on on my dashboard when I was driving. I don't feel safe driving the car with this defect, and I can't afford $1325 to replace it. I feel that this is a defect like the previous recall on the airbag.

Takata recall : my 2008 Honda Fit was traveling at 15 mph and went into a police K-9 unit 'elvis'. the air bag virulently exploded on my jaw and caused my teeth to bit my tongue. The policeman mistook the injury for a seizure and I lost my license indefinitely. I was take to the hospital against my will and given 10,000 dollars in services I didn't want or need due to the air bag. Honda and takata and NHTSA need to come clean and protect the public from this dangerous defect.

Takata recall this car is under recall according to NHTSA's December 2016 third amended coordinated remedy order. The problem is that the recall is not showing up under a VIN search for the car. Honda has confirmed that this VIN is affected by the takata recall, but it cannot send out a recall notice until NHTSA acknowledges the batch of affected vins Honda sent it on or around January 10, 2017. I cannot get a dealership to perform the required repair until Honda sends out the recall notice. That won't happen until NHTSA acknowledges that the VIN, per Honda, is affected by the recall. Honda forwarded all the necessary information to NHTSA weeks ago. This is time-sensitive since my 3 1/2 year old son is quickly approaching the rear-facing weight limit of his car seat. Even though his car seat is correctly installed in the rear seat, I cannot turn his seat around to face forward until I know he (and I) won't be at risk for shrapnel exploding into the passenger compartment. I've been following this recall closely since 2014, and it was not until may/June 2016 that 2008 Honda Fits were added, but not my Honda Fit at that time. Living in coastal Connecticut, I am no stranger to heat and humidity cycling and am baffled (and terrified) as to why my state was in the lowest priority geographical area, behind states such as Arizona and Pennsylvania. Please provide explanations for these delays, and more importantly assistance in getting the necessary repair performed on this vehicle right away. Thank you. Please note that I am filing this complaint pursuant to jennifer timian's instructions in response to my email to her of 2/6/17. Thank you.

I was notified in July 2016 of the air bag recall. I called Honda at the end of July/August to request that the airbag defect be fixed. I was told parts would be in in 2-3 days. That was 3 months ago. I needed to drive with a full call and called Honda corporate to get a rental vehicle so as to not put any passengers in danger. They told me they would turn it around in 2-3 days. It took three weeks ot get a call back - nearly two weeks after my trip was completed. It took three months to get an appointment - Honda never called me to inform me despite having called them to ask about it several times.

Takata recall: Takata recall. I own a 2008 Honda Fit.I was notified of the NHTSA recall campaign number: 16V344000regarding the passenger airbag problem. I have called several local Honda dealers - no one has the parts! what is Honda waiting for, more deaths? I can't put anyone in my passenger seat. It has been over a year - this is taking too long - it is an unreasonable amount of time to wait for repair of a deadly defect.
