Bought the car brand new. 1st year the A/C was freezing up. The dealership said they repaired it. Has been ongoing ever since. But, it only presents itself during long drives. Cools great but after about an hour of driving usually a couple hours, but varies in time to problem occurring. A/C line near firewall and line that wraps around to the right from side of the car down to a larger a/c component will freeze solid. Ice build up around the lines gets pretty thick. I've read about this problem on other sites. Some say its the thermostat others say it could be the expansion valve. Either way, this is a problem that I hear from many fit drivers. When is Honda going to fess up an say they are at fault for defective components. Probably trying to hide behind their air bag problem and not wanting to spend the money they should to take care of this problem. I remember when Honda had defective distributors on the Accord and extended the warranty out many years for free. And the Odyssey transmission had issues and they extended the warranty way out for that too. This will be the last Honda I own if they continue down this path of denial and refusing to do the correct thing and repair these A/C issues for free.
