My car was parked and someone hit it and ran, damaging the front bumper, left front fender, and tire. A day later, ALL of my car's warning lights came on. While getting body work done on the car, the body shop thought they'd fixed the car's warning lights issue and sent me home. A day later, the warning lights came back on. I took the car to the Santa Fe Honda dealer and they scanned it. It showed that a engine coil had gone bad and they needed to replace all 4... to the tune of over $500 on a car with less than 45,000 miles. (That didn't fix the issue either, so now I need new fuel injectors, which I'll post separately.) (My car is still in the shop as I type this.)
I found out that there was a recall of defective coils on 2015 Honda Fits but my car wasn't included in the recall. Clearly, it should have been! My car was built in March 2015. I have filed a case with Honda and am not accepting "Your car was not included in the recall" as an answer. They need to expand the JT9 recall.
Update from Jun 28, 2018: 4 days later, Ruby's ignition coils and fuel injectors have been replaced. I have to cough up $581.67 for the ignition coils (but am fighting Honda on this as my car SHOULD have been included in the JT9 coil recall) but, thankfully, the warranty is covering the staggering $1,223.87 fuel injectors on a car with less than 45K miles on it.
