Was two weeks out of my original car warranty. Was advised that the injectors were defective and need to be replaced which would cost $1800 but my extended warranty would take care of it and that I would be out of only $50 for the deductible. Dealer advised me that all the injectors on the FITS were defective per service bulletin and they advised me that their fix was to install replacement fuel injectors . As far as they knew they were the same fuel injectors as they didn't make a replacement for new design injectors. This problem should not have happen at under 20K miles. I am worried that this replacement wont make it another 20K.

If the parts were defective why wouldn't Honda pick up the costs instead of billing my extended warranty company and charging me $50 for the deductible? Also who put the same defective injectors back in when they should have been replaced with a upgraded version?

Although the faulty injectors are part of the powertrain, and are covered under the power train warranty. They will not replace the injectors under warranty and put the fault on the owner for putting “bad fuel” in the vehicle despite putting 87 octane, top-tier fuel. Previous owner had the catalytic converter replaced under warranty due to the injector failure. Although there are numerous TSBs regarding the false PO420 code being the injectors at fault, not the catalytic converter. Vehicle is still in warranty, yet they will not replace the injectors. Multiple owners have reported the same issue on owners forums and other social media.
