This is the Cherry on top of the cake, I had problems with the Honda Odyssey 2007 because of A/C, etc. already, I've been at the dealership and everything cost $1700.00 which I don't have... So I got home in my Toyota corolla and the back of the windshield is busted... :-/... So I remember my neighbor mowing their lawn so next day Ive talked to him and told him about the issue and that I believed that it was an accident so he agreed on paying half of it... That's what i though; so I called a place to come and replace my window and the back of my pick up so the guys start with the Odyssey and park it near and all suddenly it busted again!!!! in front of him. so he calls his office and we are waitnig as we i write this lines, it is a problem with Honda Odyssey and I probably going to have to sue them over all the function of their vehicle... as I told my wife is junk... Has this happened to anyone else?

This time the van was parked, air temp was approximately 68 degrees, no one in the van. I heard a loud pop and looked up to see that the rear window had shattered. This time I looked every where for a possible reason for the window shattering, but couldn't find one. Another trip to the glass fixer.

Now I'm getting suspicious. This is the third time that the rear window has shattered. It is getting rather expensive, even with the $250 deductible. I will think twice about buying another Honda anything. We have an Accord, an Odyssey, and a S2000. I think it is time to change "horses". Sorry Honda, I did not have this trouble with the Dodges I owned before.

After reading the complaints online, I am beginning to think there is some flaw somewhere. There must be some stresses on the glass that makes it this unstable.

The firsst time my windshield exploded was in 6/10. I was coming home with my daughter and pulled into my stall of the garage. The boys were playing in the driveway. As soon as I put the car in park, the windshield exploded - outward. Blamed the kids, but they were not near the car and couldn't have done anything to make the windshield explode. Totally perplexed. Did notice that the shatter was the entire shield, but a hole in the center. I had to go out again, to graduate school, so this was an inconvenience. Insurance did cover it. (Note: The picture was from my more recent windshield explosion, but it looked exactly the same.)

This is the second time my windshield exploded. Now my husband knows I'm not crazy. Now I know I'm not crazy after finding this site. One of the coincidences is that my car was parked in my garage stall, but this time the door was closed. It's pretty cold in there because of the present New England snow storm, but not as cold as outside, I'm sure. (Last explosion in June, though). Second coincidence is that the entire shield exploded, with a hole in center. No one was in the car since I picked up the kids from school yesterday. My husband was in the garage last night to go plow the driveway and the shield was fine. Went to plow some more this a.m. - 6:00am - and noticed the windshield. Again, from inside out. Totally perplexed. Presently calling the same autobody to see if he'll call Honda and find out what Honda has to say....T.B.C.

We were at my mothers house visiting..and my sister comes in and says that my back windshield was busted. We looked everywhere for something that may have hit it...no trees, no one outside. Then we noticed that the glass was blown outward...and not inward. Brought it to dealership and they said it may have been the heat. Really?? wow if it can't withstand 78 degree weather ...I think that should be considered faulty.

My back glass exploded while ordering food in a drive-thru. I was in the middle of ordering a meal, and I heard a loud pop. I turned around a saw my glass still entact but completely shattered. At first I thought maybe someone had threw a rock or something, but when I got out, there were no holes in the glass which I could hear crackling as I was looking at it. Also, there was nobody in the drive-thru behind me and no cars or people walking by. Seriously, out of nowhere it just shattered. I called Honda roadside service to deliver the car to the dealership, so they could fix it there. But when the adviser spoke to me, I felt he treated my complaint as if I was scamming Honda, and he ignored it and just asked if I wanted them to fix it or not. I definitely think it is a defect. The dealership is charging 997 to get it fixed, but my insurance stated they won't pay over 400 bucks unless the dealership gets an additional pricing authorization. So the Honda adviser called the insurance folks to get that authorization and called me back and said he gave them the costs and breakdown. He said my insurance company agreed to pay (though they never gave a dollar amount). I have usaa insurance which uses an affiliate (Safelite) to hand auto-glass claims.So right now, I am waiting for Safelite to listen to the call log, because the insurance rep who spoke with the dealer never wrote up the call, she had with the dealership. So in a nutshell this has been a pain in the butt. And if my insurance company (who I have had for 12 yrs), won't pay all costs minus my deductible, I am switching my home and auto with them. I will be calling Honda customer service and lodging this complaint of the defective glass.

PLEASE PEOPLE, if you have this issue, call them as well, the more complaints will perhaps make Honda evaluate this issue and rectify it. And if you work with Safelite, I guarantee you will have issues with payment if you don't use their vendors.

Window exploded outward while at a stop light (scared my wife who was driving and two children). Temperature was not a factor. Window had never had any known damage prior to incident. Local dealer denied knowledge of any known issues w/design. Local window replacement team replaced glass. Glass fragments remained inside door; prevented door from opening. Took van to dealer; $93 later door opened. A few days later, could not open door because glass fragments were not entirely removed. Glass repair folks came out and removed glass pieces and refunded $93 charged by car dealer. From the sound of other complaints on the internet, this IS NOT an isolated incident and HONDA should own up to the repairs/long-term fix. usaf157@yahoo.com

WELL IT IS ME AGAIN. YES MY WINDOW HAS EXPLODED ON MY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY AGAIN. THIS TIME THE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE. STILL HONDA DOESN'T WANT TO ADMIT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM GETTING QUITE THE RUN AROUND FROM THEM. THEY SAY THAT WHOEVER INSTALLED THE FIRST WINDOW IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. HOWEVER THE GLASS COMPANY WILL NOT WARRANTY IT, BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. SO IT LOOKS LIKE I AM EITHER GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS OUT OF MY POCKET AGAIN, OR HIRE A LAWYER.

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?
