I am the original owner of my 2008 Honda Odyssey Touring, I have had a total of five Honda Odysseys and I have never had a problem like this in any of the other vehicles. Four or five months ago the vinyl on the seats and arm rests started bubbling, and the plastics peeling from its backing. I contacted Rick Case Honda where I originally purchased the vehicle, and the service advisor i spoke with said that I needed to bring the vehicle in and they would photograph the problem areas and submit it to Honda. I went in several weeks later and the service advisor at that time stated no, we do not need pictures I will simply contact Honda and relay the information to them. Several days later i received a call from that service advisor telling me that Honda had requested pictures, and asked that I take them and submit them by e-mail to Rick Case. I did this and approximately a week later i received a call from Rick Case's service advisor stating that Honda would only cover 500 dollars of the cost and that my portion would be 1,630.00. I thought that this was very unfair, so i contacted Honda directly and talked to a gentlemen by the name of Reggie. I explained that this was a defect in the vinyl and there was no damage to any of the leather portions of the seats. Reggie said he would go back to Honda's district service representative and see if further assistance could be offered. He contacted me three days later and stated that this is all Honda could do at this time, but that I could save any receipts for the repair and if Honda had a recall I could get a reimbursement. At this time I am actively looking to purchase another brand of van.
