- the contact owns a 2006 Hummer H3. The contact received recall notice campaign # 06V417000 for the front passenger air bag. After speaking with the manufacturer she was advised that the vehicle was not affected by the recall. The contact stated that there was some failure occurring with the air bag sensor in the leather seats which registers occupancy only occassionally. The air bag sensors were not displayed when someonewas in the passenger seat, also, this was a recall issue. The contact filed complaint## 71-434659912 with the manufacturer, and an investigator came out to inspect the vehicle and diagnosed it as operating normally. An on star representative performed a diagnostic test which revealed that the passenger seat air bag sensor was not registering a passenger, even though on was seated in the vehicle at the time. The dealer also observed that the passenger seat air bag sensors failed.

Airbag sensor in main dash (not passenger light) keeps coming on, despite having the vehicle into dealer service 4 times. On each occasion, the a part is replaced, the light goes off, and within a few hours to days, the light comes back on. Currently the light is off after the 4th trip to the dealer for service.
