H3

  • 65,000 miles
I was leaving a friends house and had to drive through a small ditch and my side curtain airbags deployed for no reason. This is a Hummer H3 an off road vehicle which is supposed to be able to drive on a 60 degree angle and this ditch was maybe 2 feet deep and the truck was barely even at any type of angle at all.

H3

  • 61,264 miles
While driving down the hwy at 73 mph the side air bag curtains deployed without any reason. There was no crash or damages done to the vehicle at the time of deployment other than airbag deployment. The crash module from the vehicle states it detected a rollover event of 0-1/4 turn. We have turned in a claim to our insurance and they are in agreement that the driver nor road conditions had anything to do with the deployment. We are in disagreement with GM and feel that there is some type of defect with the vehicles system that commanded a deployment and want to file a complaint so this is checked into. At the speed the vehicle was going this could have caused an unfortunate accident if the driver was not an experienced driver. We are in the process of having the airbags replaced and interior of the vehicle fixed under our comprehensive portion of our insurance policy. We can retain any of the replaced parts for inspection if necessary.
