The contact owns a 2000 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that when driving in inclement weather 5mph and above, the windshield wipers suddenly stopped functioning. The manufacturer was then contacted and they advised him that he was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and a independent mechanic and they advised him that the windshield motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 181,000.

The contact owns a 2000 Hyundai Accent. While driving approximately 5 mph in a light, rainy drizzle, the contact heard a strange noise when the windshield wipers were activated. The wipers failed to operate. There was no warning prior to the failure. The dealer stated that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 00V096000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer;linkages), although the failures were identical. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 82,000 and current mileage was 84,000.
