My 2013 Hyundai Accent has, until very recently, been a joy to drive. I am the original owner, 61 years old, of slight stature, sole owner of this car with 57,000 miles. I tell you this to help you understand I am not overly aggressive in size or immaturity. How is it I have the strength to take a car door handle off with my bare hands??? Not unlike the issue I have read about in the older Sonatas,...my car apparently has this malady as well. Six months ago, my rear door handle came off in my hand...and...never having had that happen before in 40 plus years of owning cars.
I had a mechanically inclined friend watch a Youtube, and he managed to do the repair coming in at about $100. Fast forward 6 months, and here we are again...this time with my driver side door handle in my hand...a completely different door handle. Seriously? The same exact breakage inside. And we all want to see a 61 year old lady climb over her gear shift to get in her car (feel the sarcasm). Color me wondering if I should just go ahead and order 3 handles, because the other two are probably next? I don't live in snow ice...or hugely inclement weather...it's not weather related. I'm convinced it's a design flaw, and it's ridiculous that at 57,000 miles I'm down two handles.
Sign me, waiting for the next handle to fall.
