Okay, this goes along with my other complaint. Due to catalytic converter problems my engine is now damaged. Not sure as the extent of the damage but I have been told it could be a piston or piston rings. I have had the car stall in traffic and then only goes 5 miles an hour as it sputters down the road. I also got some white smoke out the tailpipe as well. Again Hyundai says they will not help me cause my engine was not affected by the recall and is not under warranty and yet isn't fuel in the oil a safety concern as it could cause a fire in the engine. This damage is caused by catalytic converter issues. Again, I had similar problems as other people complained about having in recalled engines just like mine. I also noticed that the car was consuming a lot of oil as well and I noticed that about 2 yrs back and just thought my engine was getting old, but that sounds like the same thing was complained about by others with the same engine the GDi 1.6L.
