The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Elantra. The contact noticed that the air bag warning indicator was illuminated on the instrument control panel. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that because the cup holder was located in the center console, a leak from a beverage could enter into the air bag module and cause the module and harness to fail. In the event of a crash, the air bag may not deploy properly. She had the air bag module replaced. Updated 2/2/09 updated 02/04/09.
