Elantra GLS 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission

My fan comes on when you tap on it from under the hood, it won't stay on, car runs hot and A/C stops working. I replaced the thermostat but that did nothing. It sounds like the fan wants to come on but when it tries it makes this clicking noise. I am trying to get this issue fixed so I can get out of this car for good. I just replaced the engine a year ago and now this. 1 year later and the car is broke down and not driveable AGAIN! I have spent more money fixing this damn car that it's even worth and I have been out of it more than in it because there is always something wrong with it. Anytime I have called Hyundai about any of the problems, they just want me to trade it in for a new one and I told them I wouldn't take a brand new one from them if they gave it to me.

Elantra GL 1.8L 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 102,216 miles

I tried to use the A/C at the beginning of summer 2018 and I only felt warm air coming thru the vents for a couple of hours. After that, It started working throughout the season not as cold as it used to. Yet I tried to use it today (outside temperature 20 Deg C) with no success. I noticed the compressor isn't kicking in. Maybe it lost the gas or the compressor itself is gone. It feels like the quality of this vehicle is within medium and poor.
