ignition won't turn over on cold day

I've owned this 2011 Hundai Elantra since 2012. It's run perfectly until recently. One day, out of the blue it wouldn't start.

It hadn't been driven in 2 days and it was exceptionally cold for CA. The first time it wouln't start it was foggy and about 38 degrees.

Called the tow truck but before it arrived I put key in ignition and tried to turn engine over - this time it started right up. All lights on dash were lit. So it's not likely to be battery in theory.

About 30 minutes transpired between it not starting and starting. Research on line indicates it's a fairly common problem for Hundai Elantras. I've driven Toyota Corollas exclusively up until purchasing this Elantra. this is because reliability is a major consideration in my purchase decision. My last Corolla literally had no problems during my entire ownership until a truck ran me over on the freeway and totaled the car. I only bought a Elantra because I disliked how the newer Corolla models drove and looked.

I am not likely to buy another Elantra if this continues to be a problem. It's the holiday so am waiting till that passes before trying to bring in for possible troubleshooting. I only have 46,000 miles on this well maintained Elantra. Please advise!
