Elantra LX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

I had a similar problem with the transmission shifting unexpectedly on my 2012 Elantra, as noted by #3 roymc25, DeSoto, TX, USA. My engine light went on and then went off before I could get to the dealer, Delray Hyundai, FL.

I copied the information from roymc25 and submitted it to the service manager. They found code PO 711 transmission fluid temperature sensor harness had to be replaced and reset transmission adaptive valve operating as spec. After over a month the problem has not reoccurred.

Thank you roymc25 for taking the time to post your problem and being intuitive enough to describe what was done to resolve it. Thank you Delray Hyundai, FL for you excellent service.

Elantra 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,500 miles

When you spend this much on a car, you want it to run right. You go back to the dealer, they don't try to hear what you're saying. I haven't had the car but 30 days and I've driven it enough to know something is wrong. Gas mileage is terrible and it's not a comfortable ride, you feel all the bumps. They need to work this out. I pay too much to feel like I'm on the ground.

Elantra Limited

  • CVT transmission
  • 78,000 miles

I'm not sure what category this falls under. When you put the car in park it now begins to jolt forward as if you have been rear ended.

Green on Dirksen has the worst service department...had to keep complaining about transmission before they would repair...didnot follow through with the plan I agreed to
