Over the years I have noticed that if I have to brake hard, the cruise control light comes on. And nothing will make it go away. It's not on, I am in complete control of the vehicle, but it really scared the crap outta me the first couple of times it did it. Sometimes the light will stay on for a full day or two, sometimes it will go off after about 15 minutes.
