Elantra

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,000 miles

Most recently left turn signal stopped working - replaced bulb. A few days later when using the key fob to unlock the door - right turn signal did not light - later that day started working. Next day both did not light when opening the doors - started working again when turn signals were utilized. Going on and off in many different scenarios over the last few days - both stopped working for a full day. Took to dealer - they stated we are using after market light bulbs (we purchased from O'Reilys). I stated that I am sure their supplier purchases the cheapest bulbs from where ever they can find them. in fact they actually replaced the left one this past February and that was the one we just replaced last week after only six months of use. Something is wrong here - dealer contends that the bulbs are burnt out and they are not - something is wrong with the connection or electrical system.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TURN SIGNALS 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR AND JUST YESTERDAY ANOTHER WENT OUT.

CALLED THE DEALER SHIP AND WAS TOLD NO RECALLS , THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT THEY NEED TO LOOK AT AND READ ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS MAYBE ELETRIC , SHORT OF SOME SOURCE BUT MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT BECAUSE THE SIGNAL LIGHT HAS BURNED OUT AGAIN. DANGEROUS NOT SAFE!

SO ONCE AGAIN I HAVE TO SPENT 1 TO 2 HOURS @ THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DAMM BURNED OUT BULB. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

Update from Oct 22, 2020: Signal lights burning out all the time
