Why is there not a recall on these motors if so many problems continue to happen. I understand normal wear and tear but we have been on top of the maintenance schedule.

Hyundai will not help with any engine repair. Warranty is up but they have had a law suite filed in US and had to extend the warranty for those people

I bought my 2016 Hyundai Elantra Gt brand new.I never had any problems or issues with it. I love this car. Then the engine went out. It started knocking, oil light came on, but there was plenty of oil in the engine. My issue is with it taking 3 weeks before it could be looked at. I couldn't get a rental until they looked at it. It's my only car! 3 weeks I had to walk the roads. 3 weeks I had to beg for rides. Hahaha the point of having a great warranty if you can't get it looked at in a timely manner?

They finely looked at it, and only told me it was covered under warranty, and they are replacing the engine. Now it will be 3-4 months before they can get a new engine. They did give me a rental, but 3 days later, after they looked at it. The whole experience is time consuming and unnecessarily so.
