While traveling on a two lane highway, at about 45 mph, the hood of our van flew up without warning and completely covered the windshield. I signaled and slowly moved right and eventually to the grass verge of the road. The hood was dented and flat against the windshield. I got on top of the engine to pull the hood back down but it would not go past the stops on the hinges. I then loosened the hinge bolts to the hood and was able to close the hood and strap it down.

Electrical problems, with my 2007 Hyundai Entourage, day one the battery had to be replaced, then at 39,000 plus miles, the power door on the left side quit working, it was bad about re-opening after being shut. Then when it was returned another problem was created, the first time my wife locked the doors the door lock notification horn was very faint.they reordered a new horn, no change. The ex-service manager said that's the way it should sound. My wife and I and children, family members all said it sounded strange. We didn't make a big deal out of a horn sound.then the battery again went bad, had to be replaced. At 76,000 plus miles both power doors quit working, I asked for a quote, and to keep all replaced parts. The quote was given, the parts weren't given to me. I was told they were to be sent back as a warrenty. Two power door motors and a module, all went bad at one time. When these doors quit working, no child can open them from the inside. Three -four days later after this repair a light comes on saying ESC off and engine light comes on. I researched recalls on google and it said there was a recall on the adjustable brake petal and switch. The dealership and Hyundai of usa both deny that it was a recall. I am afraid this van is dangerous at this time.

  • 65,000 miles
Both of our Hyundai Entourage sliding doors failed after approximately 65,000 miles. At first they wouldn't close all of the way or lock when using the electric door feature. Then, the problem occurred when closing the doors manually. Then, the electric feature totally stopped working all together and the doors still didn't fully close or lock when closed manually. We had it fixed and were told that the motors on the doors had burned out. This is surprising that these doors don't last longer given that it is a highlighted feature of the minivan; they should be able to withstand more use. I am suspect of this characterization of this problem.

The Hyundai Entourage has been driven for roughly 30K miles now with the sliding doors used daily. Now each time the doors are closed they hit the side of the vehicle and are chipping away at the paint, and to a lesser degree the doors will not lock in the open position which can be a major problem on inclines. Nothing has been done to correct the problem, the dealer reports that the doors are within specs, but I don't see how the door can be within specifications and be hitting the side of the vehicle.

Power sliding door failed to lock resulting in it opening on highway at 65mph. No way to secure door had to tie it to keep from opening failure has occurred 4 times dealer replaced latch under warranty first time 2nd time failed on trip to Canada dealer stated my warranty was not covered in Canada but I would be recompensated if I sent the invoice to hyundia. Sent all paper work they requested and was advised that it was a maintenance problem and not covered. Even though it had only been 5 months since the last repair the slider has now failed again and there is no question that Hyundai has a serious safety problem with the Entourage lt van as the number of complaints on this vehicle is huge and always on the passenger side slider. Hyundai stop production of this model after only 2 years and it is my feeling that they realized they had a design flaw and did not want to chance a recall if they continued making them. The Hyundai Entourage with power sliding doors should be recalled before some one falls out on the highway and killed. Sent all.

Entourage

We purchased our 2007 Hyundai Entourage new in July '07. Within 2 months we began having problems with the electric sliding doors on both sides. Sometimes the doors do not close all the way, or close and reopen. Sometimes the doors won't open with any method, keyfob, buttons, or manual. The doors sometimes make a sound like there is grit in the track. We have taken this to the dealership multiple times and even showed them video of it happening. Since they can't reproduce it there has been no work done to fix it. We also have intermittent battery drain. The battery has been dead 5 times for no apparent reason. The passenger side mirror will often not adjust unless it is moved to the bottom outside corner first and then it can be adjusted. The memory for the seats/mirrors are often lost. To me these all indicate a problem with the electronics in this vehicle. Dealership has not been able to find anything to fix. We also have experienced a shimmy at highway speeds. Replaced the tires and had them road balanced to remove the worst of the shimmy. Independent garage did this and said the tires and the rims are fine. It's been close to 3 years and we are still experiencing all of these issues.

Have had numerous issues with the sliding doors of the Hyundai Entourage. Just today the door is stuck in the open position and neither the automatic nor manual way of closing will work. I am sick of climbing with my two kids through the back of the mini van to put them in their seats. Dealer suggests that I drive it in with the door open..

Power doors open on their own, have to put the car doors in manual to keep it shut, this happens on and off. This has been happening since we got the car, I have taken it to Hyundai for repairs more than 5 times and they always say nothing is wrong. I showed them a video I took with my cell they still could not reproduce it they did admit several people have complained about this.

Issue: Malfunctioning passenger side sliding door on my 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The door occasionally does not shut properly when closing the door (while in the power mode). The Hyundai dealership has tried to replace a computer module on one visit and the latch assembly on another visit. The first visit they indicated they could not duplicate the problem, so they did not do anything. Please help. It is of real concern to my family because our 20 month old son rides in that seat. We see this as a safety issue.

1. driver side sliding door has not worked properly since purchase. Also happens on occasion with passenger side sliding door. Herculean effort needed to open them. Very risky in emergency situation. 2. tire pressure monitoring system failure. In replacing all 4 tires at 47,000 miles (10-25-08), the valve stems containing the tire pressure monitoring system were not removable without tremendous effort. Once reinserted, the valves proceeded to flatten one of our new tires and seriously reduce inflation in another. Result: Need another new tire and replacement of valve stems.

Entourage

My 2007 Entourage limited has several quality deficiency issues and recurring maintenance issues. The rear sliding doors (both) have been worked on several times, yet they continue to malfunction, I.e come undone/re-open, not fully latch, and consistently beep as a notice of failure. This is where my babies sit, both of them. The dvd screen has been replaced because it quit functioning properly. The van shimmies or rattles at speed around 70 mph. It causes the center console to shake vigorously. The wheels were balanced on a special wheel balancer but this only reduced the problem. The tire pressure monitoring system has had malfunctions multiple times. There is a whine from the steering column when the wheel is turned, the alternator is creating a whine over the stereo system intermittently(really annoying), the side mirrors have both had problems with the reverse/angle function where the mirrors' motor fails to return the mirror to its user preset setting when transmission is placed out of reverse(drivers side) or fails to tilt the specified degree in reverse(passenger side). The roof leaked when the van was completely shut and had to be resealed by a specialist to correct an existing deficiency, the seal around the glass for the sunroof is degrading and cracking. The sliding rear door on the drivers side has a crimped window channel seal. This shop also stated that they "had not seen one of these [Entourage] vans with so many problems". the door handles and rear high mount stop light had to be replaced due to the packing/shipping poly wrap ruining the chrome and plastic lens. The gasket for the high mount stop light had to be replaced later due to workmanship or material quality. The windshield cracked/failed (1/2" chunk of the windshield) when my wife adjusted the rear view mirror. The idler pulley has been replaced because the bearing failed. Stripping around the sliding doors are fading already and yellowing. More not enough space.

2007 Hyundai Entourage. Purchased in spring '07. Both side/sliding doors are automatic and within a few months of purchase they began to have difficulties closing. They would not be able to close and immediately open again. The right side more so than the left. It can take up to 20 attempts to close the right side at times. When it became an annoyance, meaning it occurred almost everyday we brought the vehicle in to the dealer early this spring. The first visit they needed a special order part and we returned several weeks later when the part was in. They replaced said part on both sides. Since the replacement, the doors are still having difficulties closing, right side more often than left. It became more than just an annoyance but an actual major safety issue last week when the right side door closed (after 15-20 attempts), but as my wife was pulling out of the space, the door opened on its own with my toddler son sitting right there. Fortunately she was not driving in traffic yet.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The contact stated that the power side doors would not open if they are wet or if ice accumulates on the door.
