I was sitting in traffic, waiting for the light to change, and I felt the car idle rough and then realized all the lights on my dash were on. The engine had shut off on its own. I placed the car in park, and pushed the engine start button, and luckily it started back up. The line of traffic was quite long, and it took some time to move little by little to get to interstate 581. I had to put it in park and keep slight pressure on the gas pedal to make sure it didn't shut off again, as I could feel it idling rough. As long as I kept the gas slightly idling faster, I was okay. I arrived to my destination and as I pulled into the parking space a slowed down, I could feel the car idling rough again.

Four hours later, I left my part-time job and the car started fine. I only had to stop once at a light and I kept my foot off of the gas pedal just to see how it would react, and it seemed fine. I have not driven the car since 12/23/19, when this incident happened. I will drive it this Saturday and hopefully the incident will not repeat. I have read many other incidents about this happening while other people were driving and I am concerned mine will do the same. If anyone else has had this happen and have resolved the issue, please share any suggestions to fix the issue. I have not contacted Hyundai, or the NHTSA. I may do so, in order to make sure the issue has been documented.
