splash shield fell off

I purchased the car in February 2015. In June I was driving on the highway traveling approximately 70 miles an hour when I heard this loud noise come from under the car. I pulled over onto the shoulder and checked all my tires they were fine so I look under the car. I see this black plastic thing partially attached to the car that came loose while I was driving. I take the rest of the splash guard off so I can continue driving my grandchildren home which is a 9 hour drive.

I call the dealership because I'm assuming the warranty will cover it. The woman on the phone said some man had just had the same issue and they fixed it. However, they can't get me in for an appointment for over 2 weeks. I asked her is it dangerous to drive the car without, she said no.

When they finally looked at the car they call me and tell me I caused the damage so it will not be covered under the warranty. They also gave me their assessment of what can happen to the car if the splash guard is not on the vehicle: "if not replaced, damaged splash guard can lead to engine and electrical malfunctioning including body damage." There is no damage to the car. I did not damage my car. This dealership has no plans to honor any warranty. And I would like to know if more people are having the same problems with the splash guard coming off their vehicles.

I will never buy or recommend Hyundai products again. And this is suppose to be their top of the line!
