Ioniq Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

Vehicle was taken in approximately a month ago for a check engine light, I had an issue with a timing sensor on the cam shaft, and my regular oil change was done at this time. (There was no mention of sludge during this time). Reason given for light was also oil was overfull???

Now 5,000 miles later the light is on again, this time they tell me sensor again is bad but they need to drop the bottom and remove top of engine to send pics to Hyundai as I need a new engine because it's so bad. My problem with this is why was this not found on the last time? And the car has had regular oil changes, of course not always at Hyundai because they charge way too much for an oil change. Now my car is in the hand of a warranty clerk to look at pics to see if they should cover the engine under warranty.
