problem #3

Aug 012016

Sonata Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

The paint above the windshield is peeling off in large sheets down to bare metal. No end in sight. Thought Hyundai was the next Toyota. Had bought two Hyundais but doubt I will ever buy again.

Sonata Se/limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,000 miles

I had the entire roof repainted and the hood and both front fenders.

Now I noticed it is starting on the trunk.

It is a great car except for the paint.

And the brakes, which I will file on another submit.

paint is peeling off in sheets on hood & trunk

It’s quite simple. The paint is coming off in sheets. Paint experts tell me that for water based paints it’s critical to cure the paint properly. This is not a warranty problem. It’s the original paint application adhering ‘curing properly’ problem. The paint is simply peeling off the primer.

Hyundai Corp., tells me to go to the dealer. The dealer states that I should go to Hyundai Cop....

Question is - Should I take them to small claims court?...
