I tried to do the prudent thing and take my car into a local shop to get a well advertised tune up. They put in new spark plugs, rotated my tires (and aligned), and alas, did a trans flush. When I picked up my car it was fine for two days and then it would jump upon coming to a complete stop or try and accelerate.

I brought it back to the shop and they said it didn't have enough fluid. They added more and said it was fine. I drove home and it did it again. then they said it was the wrong fluid, so they went to Hyundai directly and used their fluid. They said it was fine, but of course, it wasn't.

I took it to Hyundai and they said it was way to full of fluid and said I needed a new transmission as they don't rebuild them.

My car was fine and i bragged about it to everyone. Now I have a $3700 bill (not counting the $559 I paid for the "tune up") and busted car.

The original shop wants to rebuild it, but it is now worthless, why put a rebuilt one in as opposed to a brand new one? How will I ever get any value out of a car I took such good care of?
