problem #3

May 052014

Sonata Hybrid GLS 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,000 miles

On at least three occasions, my car has near stalled on pulling out into traffic. The last time, if I had not pulled to the shoulder, I'm certain that we would have been hit. The truck barely missed us, but I had ZERO get up and go, just slowly sputtered. I now wait until I have at least no visible traffic coming, I just don't trust it!

problem #2

Dec 072012

Sonata Hybrid Limited 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,800 miles

Hyundai called out their 'engineer' to evaluate the problem and they are 'unable to reproduce' the issue, thus commenting that all must be normal. The acceleration problem has happened several times and yet they refuse to accept that there is a problem. I also filed a complaint at NHTSA.

problem #1

Jul 022012

Sonata Hybrid Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,500 miles

This is a problem that Hyundai will not even acknowledge and this seems to be a common complaint with the hybrid drivers.
