Tucson GLS 2.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 5,592 miles

We travel to Bagiuo City. Traffic was stop and go, bumper to bumper. There was smoke coming from underneath the car and it smelled like burning clutch. It's dragging in first gear so I stopped in middle of the road. I was so scared that the car would go backwards, so I tried to use my parking brake and turn of the engine off. I was with my baby, wife and my daughter. Gosh, it's a 2017 model. I've been driving for almost 30 years and never had an experience like this before. It only happens when going to uphill. I thought this Tucson was a good suv but it is not. Trying to figure what is causing it. One mechanic told me it's the pressure plate slipping especially when it's hot. He recommend putting in a high performance clutch kit and flywheel ,but its too expensive, can’t afford it.
