Tucson Sport 1.6L Turdo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

Imagine you have a radio with a volume control knob that when you turn it a dead spot happens, where there is no sound. That the dead spot is constantly changing so you never know when you will lose your tunes. Now imagine you have a car with a transmission and you never know when you press on the pedal, if you will lose your life.

I called the dealer yesterday because as I was pulling out of a parking lot I lost all forward momentum for TWO SECONDS STRADDLING TWO LANES and then got high revolutions and whiplash. I know what two seconds can be in slow motion and this fulfilled all of my expectations. I was disappointed and annoyed by the bucking and jerking on acceleration over the last six months but after yesterday I am truly angry and hesitant to drive what seemed a good car.

I reported the earlier issues and the report was no code from my dealers mechanics. How many sensors in my car read and send signals thousands of times a minute and yet none seem to record a seriously flawed transmission or lack of acceleration that could be catastrophic? I am ready to join in group therapy for Hyundai and do some serious intervention before the music runs out. The dealer is aware and the mechanics have knowingly nodded. So wink, wink, nod, nod... fix this.

Tucson SE 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 311 miles

Turn the corner, accelerate up a hill.. gear shifts into 2, then 3, but once it shifts into 4 and I crest the hill, the RPM sticks and doesn't drop once I let go of the gas and go down the hill.. even when I level out, the RPM is still stuck unless I hit the gas so the RPM climbs up and shifts into the next gear.. hitting the brakes does nothing.
