Veracruz Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

First time, the alternator just went...no charging at all.

Second time, with the engine not running, it would have electrical leakage and drain the battery in less than a day

Veracruz SE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I purchased my Veracruz with the intention of driving it for a couple of hundred thousand miles, but at 33,000 miles the alternator went out causing me to get a new battery and have the car towed. This was under warranty. Next time was at 80,000 (4/13/14) and it is not under warranty.

The car just cuts off as I am driving with no warning, then no brakes and steering locks up. Such a safe vehicle. Now I am planning on getting rid of the vehicle plan. I paid $33,000 to drive it for 7 years. I cannot chance killing my children over the malfunction. Also, the recall of the air bag light constantly being on cannot obviously be repaired as I have taken it to the dealership approx. five times and no results. They cannot even get the part ordered to repair the recall problem. Also, they cannot get the check engine light to go off either.
