Passenger airbag light goes off due to something getting touched under the seat. Many times when under warranty, they reset it. But it is no longer under warranty I called to Hyundai to see if this is a defect and to see if the light on means their is no airbag working and complain that if my kid put his foot under the passenger chair or if a book went under it, it shouldn't trigger the airbag to shut off but no one ever got back to me. I called up the dealer and found out that the light on does mean the airbag is off and they are not aware of a recall but this happens a lot. I think it is a defect. Why would make it so that anything can get under the seat to trigger wires to turn off important things.. I would hate to get in an accident and not have a passenger airbag... I am not sure when this first started and if St charles Hyundai kept track of each time they fixed it for me.
